Avalanche hadn't expected to see Lexi all the way in Manhattan from the Bronx. What was she doin' out here, and with the situation the streets were in, surely she knew better than most that it wasn't safe. "Hey there pretty lady, you lost?" he asked with a small smile as he made his way towards his familiar friend. He tossed the cigarette on the ground and stepped on it as he walked by. "If you're lookin' for the Bronx, it's that way," he said pointing smartly down a street, he couldn't help but tease her, it was his nature.

Lexi nearly jumped when someone addressed her because she didn't immediately recognize the voice but when she turned and saw Avalanche a wide smile crossed her face. "I didn't think I was but apparently I did get a bit turned around." She was incredibly upset with herself for letting it happen. She wanted to set a good examply for the women who lived in the house with her and wondering out alone wasn't the way to do that.
With a laugh, Lexi walked over and wrapped her free arm around his neck to give him a slight hug. "Nice to see a friendly face. Do you think you could walk me home?" She felt bad asking him to go out of his way but it was going to be dark soon and the last thing she wanted was to disappoint Dodger and show up after the sun had set with no escort.

He smiled and hugged her back. "Not at all. It would be a pleasure to walk such a beautiful lady home." He smiled and started to head that direction. "If ya want, I'll even tell people that we left together, so youse can set a good example, how that sound?" he asked.
"I've heard all the stuff the leaders want the kids ta do ta stay safe... made a lotta sense to me. Its a good plan, if ya ask me." He glanced around a little bit before he said. "So, what are you doin' all the way ovah here? Harlem's a bit outta ya way ain't it?"

Laughing, Lexi gave Avalanche a nod and started walking beside him. "Sounds like a plan to me." It wasn't that she felt the need to lie but the last thing she wanted to do was disappoint someone who'd trusted her enough to put her in charge of the girls house. "It is a good idea. I actually didn't mean to wonder so far, guess I just got lost in thought."
Holding up the basket in her hand, she lifted the linen cover so he could see the food. "I was actually picking up a few things so people would have something to eat at the house when they didn't have anyone to walk with." Lexi shook her head slightly at her own thought process. She'd gone out alone so others wouldn't have to. Then again if something happened to her and she ended up being kidnapped at least she'd know if her brother was alright.

He nodded as he looked in the basket. "Oh, I see. And they don't seen food in the Bronx." he was just teasing her, he really didn't mean any harm what so ever. He chuckled a little and stuffed his hands in his pockets.
"So I heard a lead from a girly in Queens. On where the kids might be. Dunno if you've heard about the trains leavin' the stations late at night from Brooklyn station," he said looking over at her. "We're pretty sure they got somethin' ta do with all this, trains don't just leave at that time for no reason, headin' for no where when they ain't scheduled, ya know?" he asked nodding a little.

Lexi laughed a bit about his quip about the Bronx not having food, "Well they do but I just think Manhattans food tastes better." Laughing more Lexi pushed her hair out of her face and moved the basket in her arms from one hand to the other. She'd always enjoyed Alex's company and had missed him these past couple of weeks but with everything going on she'd been too busy to try and seek him out.
Pursing her lips, Lexi gave him a quick nod. She'd heard about that as well, but she couldn't do anything about it. "I think Dodgers going to a meeting soon to discuss that. I hope they figure out something to do soon."

He looked over at her. "Well no offense Lex, but dun you have a say in the matter? After all... ya kinda like... the girl Bronx leadah, right?" He took his hands out of his pockets and reached for her basket. "Here... lemme get it," he offered but really more... just kind of stated. Not that he thought it was heavy or hard for her to carry, mostly just to give her a break, plus he was a gentleman like that. "So you can go to the meetings, help find a solution, right?" he suggested. He figured at this point great minds think well together... even if they could bounce ideas off each other, at least it would be a step forward.

Lexi nodded her head, "News really does travel fast in the city." She smiled at Alex, "I know I could go with him and I'll be asking him about it later but I don't want to impose on something." Plus she was pretty close to the matter and what she thought they should do might differ from what they wanted to do. She was sick of waiting around to learn more information, she wanted to take action and get her brother back. When he took the basket from her she smiled, "Thank you, Alex."
Biting her lip, Lexi sighed, she knew what she wanted to do and that was go to this meeting and demand action, but for some reason she couldn't bring herself to get angry at the other leaders for not having done anything yet. She knew everyone had lost someone and she shouldn't overreact just because it was her brother, but a part of her wanted to strangle someone and it was getting to the point where anyone would do. "Yeah I can do that, your right. I'll speak with Dodger when I see him."

He nodded. "Good idea, miss," he said before switching the basket from one hand to the other. "Now that don't mean goin' in and bein' all irrational. Ya gotta think. But you're a smart girl, you'll bring a different kinda feelin' to the table, and I think those boys need that sense knocked into 'em." He chuckled a little. "I think you'll make them think about the sensitive side of the matter. Plus it might make some of them wake up and realize that somethin' needs ta be done, now," he chuckled a little. He was pretty sure all the leaders knew that, but he figured that Lexi being at that meeting wouldn't hurt a thing, or at least he hoped not. If it was, then it was all his fault, and he'd claim blame.

Lexi smiled at Avalanche, "You have a way with words, you know that?" He always said just the right thing to make her feel better. She pushed some stray hair back from her face. Now if only she could talk like this with Reid, then her life would have a little less stress in it. She loved him dearly but with Perry missing and Reid not acting like himself she didn't know what to do with herself. It's one of the reasons she was spending so much time focusing on the safety of her fellow lodgers. It helped ease her mind to know she could take care of them when she couldn't take care of her family.

Avalanche laughed a little. "Not really, most of the time, I just get lucky," he said with a smile. "I make it up as I go along and just ho9pe it turns out okiay, honestly," he said with his usual charming smile. "Now see, a girl like you has got a way with just about everything, head to toe, inside and out. I mean, not only are ya independent, and able ta lead, and ya smart too, but you're one of the prettiest things I think I have ever seen, with grace like a swan, and great conversation. If ya ask me... you're the one whose bound to succeed in this group," he said, the group being him and her at the moment. But it was true, all of it, Avalanche never said a thing he didn't mean.

Lexi would swear she was blushing from head to toe and she couldn't stop the bright smile that crossed her face. "Thank you, Alex, but your wrong about one thing. We're both going to succeed, we're going to make something of ourselves. I know it!" Lexi knew that with his mind and manner he couldn't possibly do anything but succeed in everything he put his mind to. They were both determined people and kind to others. He was so loving and genuine she knew he would also make a wonderful father one day.

He chuckled. "I think I can accept that," he said with a nod and a small smile. He switched hands of the basket again. "Still boggles me how ya could get lost in Manhattan though," he teased her with a nudge. He smiled over at her and put his free arm around her shoulders. "You're a good girl for lettin' me tease ya and all. I mean, ya got brothers enough ta do that, so you're a great gal," he said. "Whatever the Bronx kids did ta deserve ya, I wish I knew their secret," he added, still smiling all the while. Avalanche had no reason for laying the charm on so thick, he was just like that, and making polite conversation sa they made their way back to the Bronx. He personally didn't see much wrong with it.

Lexi laughed, "I don't leave the burrough much and I usually keep track of where I am by street names, but I stopped paying attention." Lexi gave him a smile and a wink to let him know she knew he was kidding. Lexi blushed again when he spoke of wanting to know what the Bronx did to deserve her. She thought it was more along the lines of what did she do to deserve them. They were as much her family now as her brothers and without them she didn't think she'd have survived this mess. "We both must have done something to deserve each other. You on the other hand, no idea how I got lucky enough to deserve a friend like you."

He chuckled and shrugged. "Well ya know, anyone who's friends with me is real lucky," he said with a wink. "I'm exclusive!" Not even true, but she knew that. "Speakin' of which, when ya gonna let me take you out to dinner?" he asked with a smirk to her. "C'mon, there's nice restaurants all over this city, and a pretty girl like you, deserves to get taken out every once in a while." Was he asking her on a date? Kinda, but mostly just to sit down and have dinner with her. He liked talking with her, and he liked treating newsies and his friends to such things, for no reason at all. It had been ages since Avalanche had gone on a date, and he really wasn't sure if he wanted to start.
