PIper was getting really hungry, she couldn't argue there. Plus it was getting late where they were at, so she decided to agree with him and she nodded her head in reply to his offer.
"Sounds good, and I honestly don't even care at this point, anything sounds good to eat." Piper replied in a smirk and smiled at Jib.

Jib smiled and stood and looked at her. "Let's head to the Bakery." He waited for her to stand. "They have great food. I'm looking forward to a nice pastry." His eyes brightened just thinking about it. He liked to treat himself to the bakery every now and then. Taking a step back he gave her room to walk beside him.

"I heard it was really good." Piper replied as she got up form her spot on the bench. Joining Jib she walked along the path and shoved her hands in her pockets. The sun was over them but they got a shield of tree leaves and branches hovering over them.

>>>New Day<<< Z growled in frustration. Throwing her papers and pamphlets on the ground she stomped over them and threw herself onto the bench. "Gosh darn imbeciles....not a womens place my arse." She muttered then resorted into Italian curses before she sighed deeply and took multiple breathes to calm down. Rubbing her temples, she closed her eyes for a second and straightened her back to relieve some tension, trying to regain balance. Instead she began cursing under her breath again this time in Greek, as her elbow came into contact with the bench, simply adding more fuel to the fire.

Avalanche was taking a break in the park as he heard something of a mess of sound and then a thump. He was sitting on a bench near by. He had a pair of black pants on, and he found this nice pair of black shoes in a back ally, he looked like a business man behind the newspaper that he was reading. Of course he wasn't. When he heard the poor girl ram her elbow into the bench he lowered the paper and showed his button up faded blue shirt, and newsie hat on his head. "Hey there girly, you okay?" he asked leaning forward and getting ink rom the paper all over his elbows.

Z started, hitting her elbow hard once again, then blushed. Her rant cut off in mid stream. "Ouch" She murmured, again rubbing her elbow "No worries sir, just my mouth getting away from me." She smiled politely at him then taking in the mans clothing her face broke into a genuine grin and she laughed. Something pleasantly surprising always calmed her temper.
"I'm fine thank you...This bench seems to like to cause a lady harm. Though that News Paper seems in right shape to take you on too by the looks of it." Z shook her head and grinned charmingly at him, her eyes bright with laughter.

"Huh?" Avalanche looked down to see his elbows blackened by ink. "Oh great," he said laughing a little himself. He smiled at her. "Glad you're okay," he added as he folded up the paper and sat it down on the bench beside him. "Well if that bench has something against you, would you be interested in sittin' next to me for a little? Tell me why you're... not in the best of moods? A girl as pretty as yourself shouldn't ever frown, that smile on your face now makes your eyes sparkle," he said rather serious about what he was saying. He smiled back at her in a way so as to match her charm, but his was his natural smile. Seemed whenever the man smile it was a charming one.

"Thank you, I dont know if you will want to be so kind to me later on but i will take the compliment in utter modesty" Z said her eyes glittering with amusement as she stood up then bent down gracefully to retrieve her pamphlet and papers that were spread at her feet. Walking toward him her body sway elegantly and she smoothed her skirt as she sat down and placed her papers on her lap. Carefully refolding them one by one by one by one.
Tell me why you're... not in the best of moods?
"Men" Z said simply but smiled warmly at him nonetheless like she wanted him to share in the humor of it. "My job...the two are intertwined." she shrugged in a lady like way not the least bit self conscious with her vocation or herself.

Avalanche chuckled. "Messy business ain't it?" he said, meaning both the ink on the papers, and how close you get to the boys you work with. Ended badly, it seemed, more often than not. "Sorry ta hear it ain't all goin in your favor," he added honestly. "here, lemme help," he said as he began to assist her in the refolding of her papers.
"So... new topic. You from around these parts? Bronx?" he asked as a small gust of wind came up, and he had to hold down the papers that were on his lap to keep from losing them completely for her.

Messy business ain't it? Z grinned loving that he thought she was a newsie and was having relationship troubles. Trying exceedingly hard not to laugh her eyes twinkled with suppressed laughter. "Aye what a messy buisness, you never know whether those old neanderthals will pay attention or grab your derriere." then she did something she never did. She winked at him.
You from around these parts? Bronx?
Z nodded handing him some of the woman's rights pamphlets. "Of course, I've grown up here." she directed her head at the pamphlets. "One might say I've taken up the family business." she smiled genuinely at him, teasing him a bit. "And where do you derive from?" she asked her cultured accent slipping through as her hands finished up the folding of her pile.

He found the wink interesting. She was a pretty girl wasn't she? He wondered what exactly that wink meant to her... for he was just going to take it as though she were joking around, he hoped that's how she meant it.
"Well..." he said chuckling. "Used ta live in the Bronx. Then I was leader of Queens for a few some years, and now I live in Brooklyn!" he said with a smile. "Dock worker now,' he added figuring it a good idea to add on what he actually did for a living.
He gazed down at the pamphlets he was holding. "And what're these then?" he asked, eyes scanning over the paper before he looked to her for an answer.

" A Man of the world then." she said lightly her smile kind. "It seems you have resided everywhere but Manhattan." she took up one of the pamphlets, newly flattened, and handed it to him.
"My lifes work." She said kindly. "Take a look and tell me what you think. It would be nice to get a Newsies perspective on how to be persuasive and how to sell my point." she grinned a bit self-deprecatingly. "Cant seem to get a single human being, male or female to give me a time of day to hand them one of these on woman's rights. But the neanderthals around have time to give me a pinch on the derriere and be..."
She broke into light Italian curses muttered daintily under her breath. Catching herself she smile beautifully apologetically. "Sorry, i'm a bit... passionate." her genuine grin lit her face. She was confident enough to make fun of her 'passion'.

He chuckled. "Not at all, I believe that brought us back to square one," he said with a smile. "After all, this is all how we met. You with your cursing, and me... with my paper," he chuckled.
He started glancing over the pamphlet. "Havin' a hard time huh? Well... See... when a newsie wants to get the word out what we do is we say it in a way people are interested. We might hafta change the wordin' a bit, but it's hardly ever a full on lie. A cheat at times I'd bet, but not a lie. So... you wanna get your point across with these things," he said motioning to the pamphlets. But people don't care. Why? B'cause they like their world the way it is. You wanna change it? They ain't gonna be to happy about it. So make it seem like it ain't a change, but a real improvement. True, they're the same thing, but change scares a lotta people. Make it positive! Especially in these times it's hard to do but can be done.
"Say, for example," he suggested, "money. Maybe women is gonna make more money with these thin's or somethin yeah? Push that! More money for the family! Kids better fed, better life for everyone. Tell people that you have the secret to success, and it's giving women the rights to do stuff men can." He hoped that it was a little bit of help anyway. It made good sense to him.

"Indeed it is." she agreed cocking her head as she listened to him continue about what she could do to improve her work.
"Hmmm..." Z looked at the pamphlet in her hands. "You know that has a good chance at working" She grinned at him "You looking for a job?" she asked good naturedly and bumped his shoulder with hers. "I could use a new 'headline' writer." she smiled beautifully at him, she liked him, he was a smart, level guy. She didn't know many of those in New York.

He laughed. "I gotta job. B'sides, if I were to take on another one I'd need some way of gettin' paid, and... well... I ain't gonna take money from a pretty girl like you. Everyone's on hard times. I'll stick to companies and such, not people who can hardly make it themselves. Not that you can't! Just... well if you're the only one of you... I don't wanna take your money. But, if ya lookin' for a volunteer," he said with a chuckle. "That's a different story! That... maybe i could do," he said with a soft and charming smile to her.
