"To tell you the truth, I whole heartedly agree."
"Why, I'd love to, Hold on."
"Alright, I'm ready."
Laughing he stood and collected his papers off the bench before moving a few steps and looked back at her. He raised and eyebrow at her and laughed even more. "Sneakin' outta windows, taking ya shoes off, yer a wild one." He said teasingly, he didn't mean it in a mean way. Smiling he offered her his arm like a gentleman would. "Lady's choice, left or right?"

"Sneakin' outta windows, taking ya shoes off, yer a wild one."
Devonney laughed looking down at her barefeet and then shook her wavy hair, "Well you would do the same thing if your shoes pinched yours the way mine do. Dreadful things really."
She thought of the fact that if her Stepmother Florella saw her, she would probably faint at the sight. That made her laugh all the more, her eyes dancing and her smile brightening.
She was pleased when Drifter offered her arm and took it, smiling up at him in delight. He treated her like she was Queen of the world, and though she usually got sick of being spoiled, she didn't mind this at all. Never had she met such a kind boy.
"Lady's choice, left or right?"
"Hmm, Left." She decided, letting her dress flow around her ankles in the breeze. It was just the perfect day.

"Well you would do the same thing if your shoes pinched yours the way mine do. Dreadful things really."
He laughed with a nod looking at the shoes, "They look like some thin' used for torture," He was over exaggerating of course, he was sure they weren't bad, but he wasn't going to test that theory.
"Hmm, Left."
"Left it is." He said with a smile and started to walk down the path, he smiled and tipped his bowler hat to the people giving them odd looks. "So Dev," He looked at her deciding to call her that, "What kinda thin's ya interested in?"

"They look like some thin' used for torture."
She wrinkled her nose and then grinned, putting a hand to her forehead. "Oh the pain! I can't bear it! get me to my fainting couch!" She imitated her stepmother before peeking an eye open and laughing, putting her arm back in Drifter's.
"So Dev, What kinda thin's ya interested in?"
She watched Drifter tip his hat to those who were giving them odd looks, she didn't see anyone she knew, so she shrugged it off, a smile still dancing on her lips. Her smile brightened when he called her Dev. She liked it.
"I enjoy being in the gardens this time of year, the flowers just bloom so beautifully! I like music of any kind, I actually play some my self. I always am an avid fan of Ar--," Her sentence stopped as she saw a stand on the side of the path of water color paintings and she let out a quiet breath of delight, walking over to admire the paintings, particularly one of a flower garden.

"Oh the pain! I can't bear it! get me to my fainting couch!"
He laughed giving her a little clap, "You can be an actress!" He said giving her a smile as they walked. Selling a few papers here and there he put them in his pocket making sure it was the one without the whole in it. He had learned that lesson, he kept losing things.

He listened to her with interest, so she can play music that was more then he could do, sell papers and pick pockets was pretty much all he could do. Drifter's head turned the direction she walked off to and walked over and looked at the pictures. "I take it ya like art then?" He said with a laugh.

"You can be an actress!"
She swatted at him gently, her eyes dancing as she shook her curls. "No, me? I was only doing an interpretation of my Stepmother's behavior. She exaggerates everything. She's my Father's sixth wife, believe it or not." She bit her lip with a small shrug. She watched him sell his newspapers with interest and curiosity. Drifter seemed to do a fine job of it.
"I take it ya like art then?"
Devonney nodded her head vigorously, pulling out her little pouch bag off her wrist, pulling out some coins. She picked up the small painting of the garden, smiling at the young artist. Art was art, done by amueture or professional. It didn't matter, the only thing that mattered was the beauty and creativity of the painting. She paid for it, complimenting the young street artist, before smiling at Drifter and saying they could continue on, her smiling in delight at the new edition to her art collection.

"Well it was very impressive," He laughed and then made a face that looked a bit shocked when she said that about her Stepmother. "His sixth wife?" What happened to the other five?
He sold another paper placing the coin in his pocket as he turned to look at the picture she had bought before looking at the other pictures there was to buy. If he was an artsy type a guy, or had the money, he might have bought one for himself. "These are pretty good," He pointed to the one in her hand. "That one's real nice." Drifter gave the street artist a small nod and a smirk before continuing their trip down the path.
