Just off the side of the water. Though there is a ladder going straight down into the water, thanks to the walls that they built up.

Twitch climbed down to the water and eased his cut feet into the icy water. It felt nice. He looked up and down the shore. No one was in sight and that was just the way he liked it.

<<new day>>
Spot swung his cante a bit, taking a slow stroll. It was late, but he didn't really pay attetion to the time. It was time. The damn paper raising the prices again...the newsies couldn't afford that. There was going to be another strike....apparently the papers, them big ole men in the sky, didn't get the message the first time.
They couldn't take stuff out on the little guys. It would bite them in the ass. Spot was determined to make them pay this time.

Gwennie knew that she should probably be in bet by this time, and normally she would have been, but tonight she really couldn't sleep. She wasn't really sure why , but fort some reason she just wasn't tired. So, after an hour or so of laying in her bunk, eyes wide open and exceedingly bored she had decided to go down to the shore and look at the sea for awhile, she had never seen it at night before, not this late, anyway and had decided that it would be a constructive use of her time to see if it was the same at night as it was during the day. When she had arrived she had been sorely disappoinded to discover that it was, indeed, pretty much the same only slightly darker. Still, she always thought that the sea was beautiful and decided that it might help her sleep later if she stayed for awhile and watched it.
As she was sitting there watching the moonlight reflect on the water, she saw a figure walking across the shore. At first she didn't recognize who it was but as it got closer she rcognized the figure as none other than Spot Conlon. Distracted from her sea gazing she decided to go over and say hi, after all she never let someone she knew pass by without saying hi to them, it just seemed like a mean thing to do.Even though she didn't know him very well she didn't want to run the risk of making him sad or any thing like that. "Hi Spot!" she called out cheerfully, waving at him as she walked over.

Impatient had just been walking around Manhattan, aggavated at the raising of the newspaper prices. She made it over the bridge, and into Brooklyn by now.
As she was walking by the shore, she heard a young voice. "Hi Spot!" Impatient turned around, and saw a little girl, who had wavy blond hair.
When she said Spot, she was obviously calling to the almighty Spot Conlon. She grinned, thinking how Spot talked to the younger newsies.
Impatient walked over to the young girl and Spot. "Hey Spot. How's Brooklyn goin' foah ya?"

"Who're you?" Lucky walked into the shop with her latest winnings and shoved past Impatient, annoyed at her chipperness, she looked down at Gwennie and handed Spot almost a dollar. "I know enough when I'm licked Conlon no more bettin' those kinda odds alright?"
Blowing off Impatient she moved past the girl that she had no idea who she was, She put her hand on Gwennie's head, "Kiddo what're ya doin? Shouldn't ya be at the lodgin house by now?" Yeah littler kids Lucky was a bit nicer too but Impatient--- nah she was new blood and not Brooks.

Lucky shook her head, somehow the older Brooklyn girls tried to look out for the small ones, "Well grab Marvin, kiddo-- it's way past bed time for you.."

Lily walked along the shore quietly watching the water sparkle in the sun. Her shoes dangled from her fingers as her toes sunk into the sand. She stood still for a moment and breathed in the air. She always liked the air near the water better than the city air. She hesitated for a moment wishing that there was somewhere higher where she could perch before she folded onto the warm sand floor. She tucked her shoes so they were slightly under her. She didnt want a chance of losing them, she didnt really have money to replace them. A small smile played on her lips as she watched the water, it was just so pretty.

Mark was wearing his shorts, with no socks nor were his boots on. He had on a black tank top, and was just walking around on the sand. His biceps showed, but he didn't care. The wind blew his blond curls in his face, but he hadn't known.
Sitting in the grass, he saw a girl a few feet away, and she looked very insecure.

Perch swung her arms gently behind her placing her hands palm down onto the sand so that she could lean back a little bit. Her hair blew gently around her face, the wind playing with her slight curls. It was a little annoying but she just smiled and reached up to tuck some of the hair behind one of her ears so the other side still blew freely in the gentle breeze. She put her hand back where it had been before, nestled on the sand and all the while her eyes never left the water.

Mark was very curious in the girl, but didn't want it to seem like he was stalking her, because obviously, he wasn't. He took off his shirt, then scooted a little closer to her, but not to close and asked very wearily, "Excuse me, Miss, you look troubled, is everything all right?"

Perch caught sight of someone in her peripheral vision and her eyes narrowed a bit but she stayed exactly as she had been. She'd heard him walking on the sand but hadn't thought to much of it because she was on her own turf. Her thoughts changed when she saw him and didnt recognize his face. When you think you know everyone, there's always that one person who proves you wrong. she thought as he approached her. When he came near to her and spoke she looked away from the water to look at him. Her brow furrowed very slightly at his words, why was this random stranger asking her these questions. That could get him killed around here.
"troubled?" she asked, confused as his words came out of her mouth. She looked troubled? She sat up straighter pulling her arms back up and put them in her lap. She shook her head out of her trivial thoughts, "yeah. i'm fine" she put up a indescript face showing no emotions. "Who're you?" She wasn't sure that she wanted to talk this guy if she didnt know who he was or where he was from. He seemed pretty nice, but you never know.

"Oh, alright then." Mark glanced up at the water and sighed. Taking out a cigarette and lighter from his pocket, he answered her questions. "I'm Mark Findley, I work at the Brooklyn Docks, and I live here. What about you?" He didn't think she had to answer if she was uncomfortable, so he just sat there and waited.
Putting the cigarette between his index finger and middle finger, and lit it. Taking a long drag, he turned to her and said, "Would you like a smoke? Or do you not smoke?"
