Cards laughed with him. She nodded as he said good bye. Then she turned and left herself.

New Day
Salem leaned her elbows on the counter, a scowl residing on her lips as she surveyed the room. There were a decent amount of people inside, but it seemed most of them were only there to warm up from the cold.
She sighed, not liking not having anything to do. She wasn't a fan of having piles of work, but she hated being bored. And that's why, for her own entertainment, she pulled out a few spare toothpicks from behind the bar and began to casually throw them like tiny spears at various customers. That's the way to keep business booming.

Lucky watched the waitress impale people and she couldn't hide the smile on her face. She'd managed to avoid getting stabbed, and chuckled a bit as she sat at the stool beside the waitress. "Aim for the eyes.." she said with a quirk of her lips, she was cold sure but she was also hungry. Two things Lucky wasn't very fond of being, to bad the track was slow during the winter. She needed to find a card game or two and get some more money so she could get a hat.

Without taking her eyes off her current victim, Salem said, "I would, but I don't get paid if I blind half the customers." She threw one of her toothpicks, hitting an obviously drunk fellow in the head. When he turned, looking around wildly, she grabbed a glass and pretended to be busily cleaning it.
She glanced over at the man a moment later, smirking as he turned back around, rubbing his head. Looking to the stab-'em-in-the-eyes girl, she said, "You want a drink or something? Throwing theses things is far more entertaining after a couple shots, I find." Obviously she was referring to the toothpicks. She had no intention of throwing glasses at people. Though the idea had certainly crossed her mind.

Lucky smirked a bit then chuckled, "I was thinking more along the lines of something to eat, but whiskey would be good too.." She looked over her shoulder at Salme's latest victim and grinned a bit. "Heh, well you may not get paid if you blind them.. but I've never been one to turn down dinner and a show.." Which meant, that throwing toothpicks was a amusing to her and she was intersted.

Salem nodded, setting down the glass she was cleaning and grabbing a new one, "Right. What d'you want?" she poured the girl a glass of whiskey and slid it over to her.
Edging toward her stash of toothpicks, she pulled out a couple more, throwing one at a man entering the pub. She smirked as it nailed him in the nose, causing him to loudly exclaim to his friends behind him, "Sweet Jesus, I think this building's got a leak!" She rolled her eyes. What kind of person thinks leaks and toothpicks are the same thing? ...Besides this guy.

Lucky chuckled and gave her a smile, "Just a sandwhich, can't afford much else in the winter.." she took her shot of Whiskey like a pro and gave the waitress a grin before she started to laugh at the guy who thought it was a leak. "That's the most incredible thing I've ever heard.. he could be rich.. with a brain like that.."

Salem nodded, quickly putting together a sandwich and pushing it across the counter. In reference to the man, she said, "Mmm, he probably is, that's the scary part," she grabbed a nearby rag and began wiping off the glass she had been previously cleaning, "You know, I've met rocks with more brains than over half the people who come staggering in here."

Lucky smirked and nodded, "Aye, I'm not surprised. It's amazing how the population gets larger but the sum of intelligence remains the same..." She started eating her sandwich and then laughed again. "Though to be honest, I do find them all really funny, just as long as they stay out of my way.."

Salem rolled her eyes, "Try working here, then tell me how funny they are," she put down the glass and leaned against the counter, "God, it's like a gathering of idiots," she turned her head to look at the girl, "You seem like ya got at least half a brain. You just down here looking for a cheap meal or what?" Eyeing a group of completely drunk customers at a nearby table, she added, "I can't imagine what else could bring someone here."

Lucky quirked an eyebrow and smirked. "It was close, it was warm. And to be honest I like the food. Plus it's in my price range." She looked around her and watched the other patrons a long moment. "Besides, brains don't get you to far unless you've got the cash to get somewhere to use them.."

Salem arched an eyebrow at her last comment, "Sounds like someone thinks she's got the right mind to get somewhere, aye?" She picked up another toothpick, now aiming at a young man seated close by. She paused before throwing it to ask, "What's your name anyway?"

Lucky just smirked, "Well, I'm still alive that counts for something.." She watched the girl then laughed when she asked for her name. "Most call me Lucky..."

Salem arched an eyebrow, launching the toothpick, "Most? Only most? What do the rest call you?"
The man who had been struck by the little piece of wood turned, sending Salem a nasty glare. She gave him a wave, and, when he continued to glare, she snapped, "If you want something, you've gotta say it. I ain't a mind reader," turning back to Lucky, she muttered, "Idiot."

Lucky shook her head and laughed, "The rest call me either Miranda or Miri.. what about you. You got a name?"
