Spade slowly opened the lodging house door and looked inside carefully. Seeing three people she slowly backed out, being shy as she was. But of course Devil decided she wanted to stay. He rushed inside the lodging house barking causing a disturbance. Spade rolled her eyes, but walked into the house. Taking a seat a little bit away from everyone she yelled, "Devil! Over here NOW!" Settling into her seat she watched as the Dog came over with his tail between his legs. "I'm not going to beat you, silly," she whispered with a smile, patting his head.

Flick smiled at Champ, "Nice ta meetcha Champ. Are ya new ta New York?" He was interrupted by the sound of a dog barking. Which was very loud and was a surprise to here. His head snapped towards the door and saw a big dog came rushing into towards them all. He smiled a little, but watched the dog closely, never knew if they would bit or not.

Fox looked at the dog and grinned. "Aww, he's so cute!!" She heard his name. "Devil huh? How did he get that name?" She asked, looking up at Spade.

Spade looked at everyone, but focused on the girl that had just talked. "He decided to get me into trouble all the time. And since we've been on the road for awhile, I can tell you the name fits him and fits him well." She looked around the lodging house trying not to pretend she was perfectly fine being around all these people, but she was still shy by nature. "Um, is it alright if I stay here?" She looked around waiting for someone to answer her question.

Phoenix yawned as she strolled into the lodging house. She was beat. Walking around the city all day, looking for a place to stay was not on her 'top five funnest' list. She sighed with relief as she spotted a couch. She made her way over and threw herself onto it, clossing her eyes.

Cheater entered the lodging house, wondering who'd she see. The Bronx newsies had had many new additions lately...
but she didn't expect to see someone passed out on the couch.
She frowned, and sat down in a chair.
Should I wake her up? She wondered, before shrugging and taking out one of her leftover newspapers.

Lightning walked in and didn't notice the sleeping newsie on the couch.
His mind had been on Mayhem - again, and he was only half conscience as of where he was.
He walked over to the couch, not paying attention and dropped his sack right on top of her.

Phoenix yelped as a bag was dropped on her face. She sat up, only to lose her balance and fall to the ground, landing on her hands and knees. She glared at the boy standing in front of her though her bangs.
"Do yah mind? Or is it against da law ta take a nap?"

"Wha-? Oh sorry! I didn't see ya their...I was a bit preoccupied - on other things.." Lighting stuttered as he looked over the girl in front of him.
"Ah - I'm Lightning." He said sticking out his hand towards the girl.

Phoenix watched the boy with amusement as he stammered. She rocked back on her heels, shaking her hair out of her face. "'S alright. I didn't mean tah snap at yah. You startled me, is all." She shook his hand. "Phoenix is da name. Good tah know yah."

Lightning had once again only been half listening, but snapped out of it as she took his hand.

Phoenix dropped Lightning's hand when she realized that he wasn't really paying attention to her. "Something on your mind, mate?"

"Yeah...Someone actually..." he said looking absolutely mystified.
He didn't know why he had humiliated her like that. He wondered if she would ever talk to him again. He liked her. Alot. And he would die if she just ignored him for the rest of his life. It didn't look promising though, seeing as she had taken off running and crying.
