Innocence looked at him. "A little hungry." was all she said nothing more. She smiled as she saw another lady and took a paper form Skittery and went up to her coming back with a shinny penny and a smile.

"Nice ta here an opinion" he said as she ran away with another paper. Seemed like selling newspapers was a good game for her - which was promising if she had to make a living. When she came back he returned her smile and bent over to be closer to her. "What do ya say we use the money we made get some food an' get out of stinking cold whether?" He raised his eyebrows.
((where should we move, ladies choice on location...))

(hmmm i don't care and i character Innocence doesn't know very many places)
Innocence nodded her head. "Otay." She had a big smile on her face that couldn't be washed away however she was a little cold and she shook a bit hugging her bear tighter to her. "Somewhere warm."

Skittery nodded, "Warm. Got it." He took a few steps and looked back at his midget partner - "We ain't gettin' anywhere before dark with yer dwarf legs..." He rolled up his remaining newspapers and stuffed them into the shoulder of his jacket. He had a free hand now and picked up Innocence resting her weight on his hip and forearm. "Speed things a long a bit.." He smiled and headed out toward the bridge.
((i'll post at Tibby's))

New Day
Hawkeye sauntered down to the water's edge. She had never been to the this part of the river before, and figured she'd take a trip while she had some spare time.
She hopped onto a nearby log and walked along it, humming the tune to "High Times, Hard Times." Graceful as ever, she lost her balance, "Agh!" She fell off, landing about a foot away from the water. She sighed, staring up at the sky, not bothering to get up, "And this is why I will never become a dancer," she muttered.

Pepper walked at a slow pace down the riverbank. She noticed a girl laying there, and made her way towards her.
"Better be careful not to close your eyes, word is you might get pushed in," she said motioning to the nearby water.

Hawkeye smirked, still staring at the sky, "I suddenly get the feeling a Brooklyn newsie is nearby," she sat up and slowly got to her feet, brushing off her clothes, "Mind you, that wasn't an invitation to shove me in. I know a decent amount of people who would think it was," she smirked again, "If I'm lucky, you're not among that certain group."
She sat down on the log, calling back to the girl, "I'm supposing you're new, aye? Apologies if I'm wrong, I don't keep up with the flow of Brookies."

Pepper smirked at the girl's comments, "Ya got the right feeling, but no worries, I ain't amongst the group that would.. Maybe.." She couldn't make any promises, never know what might occur.
"No offense," she added to her previous remark. "The name's Pepper, and ya, I'm new 'round here."

She nodded and said sarcastically, "That's very comforting. I'll be sure to bring something to dry off with next time I come down here," she turned to look back at Pepper, "Hawkeye. Long time 'Hattan newsgirl," she smirked, "How's Brooklyn treating you so far? I've heard Conlon's not too friendly toward the new ones." She had never met the leader, but gossip did travel, and, having ears, she couldn't help but pick up on what everyone else had to say.

Pepper nodded in agreement, "S'pose you better," a smirk began to curl upon her lip. "Well.. It's.. I don't think I've been 'round here enough to put my input on that subject.. I'll get back to ya."
She thought about her first proper introduction with a Brooklyn newsie, which didn't go over so well, "Let's just say the only reason I knew said advice was because it was given to me.. or threatened to me depending on how you look at it.."

Hawkeye grinned, "Welcome to New York. You seem like you're not too dumb though, just learn how to talk the talk, all that, and you'll be golden," granted that her advice wasn't too meaningful, as she wasn't in that inner circle, or in Brooklyn at all.
She looked back out at the water and asked, "Where're you from anyway? You a New Yorker or what?" she turned her head slightly to the side, as to be able to watch Pepper out of the corner of her eye--she wasn't quite sure how serious the other was about pushing her in.

Pepper smirked, noticing Hawkeye's constant watchful eye on her, "What, a 'Hattan newsie's giving me advice?" she said sarcastically, as a slight grin appeared on her face.
"I was born in Italy, moved to New York when I was young, but I didn't make it to these here parts til recently," she motioned to the current surroundings, "What about ya? What's your story?"

Hawkeye shrugged, "I know my way around. Pick up on things when you hang around long enough," she smirked.
She perked up upon hearing where Pepper was from, "Italy, huh? We've got a lot of Italians 'round here. Hey, can you say something in Italian?" She'd heard people on the street speaking in other languages, and had yet to get bored of hearing them.
She shrugged again in response to Pepper's question about her background, "Me? I'm a wanderer, I guess. I used to hate the idea of being on a schedule. I mean, I don't like it now either, but before, I was in a different place every week," she rolled her eyes, half grinning, "It got a little obsessive. I don't think anyone outside of Babylon ever saw me twice. I'm originally from Long Island," she added, "Grew up there."

"Uh," Pepper bit her lip, "Well, I didn't really spend much time in Italy.. I didn't exactly grow up there.. About all I remember how to say is 'Ciao, il mio Anna del nome. Ho fame.' which means 'Hi, my name is Anna. I am hungry.'" She smirked, "Had to use 'I am hungry' a lot after all."
"Hoping to stay 'round here for a bit longer than that?" She asked in response to Hawkeye's comment. Her eyes wandered around, looking out at the water, "Must be tough to move around so much."

Hawkeye grinned, "It ain't so bad once you get used to it--moving around that is," she smirked, "I don't think 'not bad' ever applies to being hungry. But, yes," she added, "I don't think I'll be hitting the road. Not anytime soon at least. Newsie-ing's not so bad," she rolled her eyes, "You know, sometimes."
