Sweets stepped outside, pulling a cigarette from her pocket. Taking a seat on a step she lit the match on the brick and leaned back, sighing.

Rose walked at a quicker pace to catch up to Hawkeye. When she arrived she took a seat on one of the steps, noticing Sweets, "Heya, Sweets. How ya doin'?"

"Heya Hawk, Rose," she greeted them each with a slight head nod. "Ah ya know, just bummin' around." She grinned and took a drag on her cigarette, then raising an eyebrow at Hawkeye. "Wheah ya goin' ta eat?"

Rose nodded, "Maybe next time." Rose then motioned to Hawkeye, "We should go get our money and head out for lunch, I'm starving!" Rose stood up and made her way for the door to the lodging house, "See ya, Sweets."

Hawkeye smirked at Sweets, "Well, a' least it was well spent money." Looking back at Rose, she nodded and disappeared into the lodging house, returning moments later with a pocket full of coins.

[[New Day...er, Night]]
Firecracker quickened her pace as she stepped back into the darkened streets of Manhattan, relief washing over her as she entered her borough. Her light green eyes darted behind her to Alley Cat, making sure the Brooklyn newsgirl wasn't too far behind. While Manhattan wasn't as dangerous as Brooklyn, there were no promises you wouldn't get hurt.
She grinned as the Lodging House came into view, relaxing visibly and falling into step besides her 'escort.' Having gotten stuck in Brooklyn while trying to get to Queens, the Brooklynite had offered to help her get back to Manhattan, an offer she greatly appreciated. While they hadn't run into anybody in Brooklyn, it was better to have somebody with you then to walk through the alley ways alone.
Finally, they arrived at the front steps, and Firecracker's grin grew wider. She hadn't ever been so happy to see the old building.
"T'anks again, Alley Cat," she thanked, resisting the urge to do a happy dance, knowing it would endanger both of their healths. "I don't t'ink anybody's up, so if you'se want a stay for a while, ya can."

"In a little late, aintcha?" a voice spoke from the shadows at the side of the steps. A match was struck and Blink's face was outlined for a moment as he lit the cigarette hanging from his lips. "I couldn't sleep, so i decided to come out for a smoke. Guess who i saw comin in from Brooklyn?"

Firecracker resisted the urge to swear and turned innocently to the Manhattan newsboy. With her luck, she should've expected something like this. Mentally cursing fate and its ironic humor, she grinned innocently.
"Heya, Blink!" she said cheerfully, before pretending to be interested and asking, trying not to be sarcastic, "Who'd ya see?"

"Wells." He leaned half on the steps, his one eye glittering in the faint light. "I do think i saw you and a brookie." He raised an eyebrow, blowing some smoke from between his lips. "Am I right?"
Many people thought he was blind because he only had one eye, and others overlooked him just the same. But that had only taught Blink to see everything, down to the last detail. Half a person he was not, and even a whole person would have overlooked the way they had been watching out for what was around them.

Alley Cat Tensed. "Youse welcome Firecracker." She looked at Blink after he appeared backing off a little. She was kinda rooted to the spot she wasn't sure what to do.
