Jack smirked. "..Hey, if it keeps you talking, I'll guilt trip you til I leave for Santa Fe." He laughed softly. "And that's not happening any time soon."
He softened a bit, lowering his voice. "Come on now, Zero. Ain't that bad, talkin' to us, no? Give it up...you'll be happier."

It was Zero's turn to smirk. "Well, some of you..." she trailed off and looked a bit embarrassed at what she was going to say next.
"I just... don't like... talking..."

Jack shrugged. "Why?" He lit a cigarette, taking a drag. "I mean...it aint that bad. Just sounds in forms of words..."

When Red only glared at him, he went to check on the rain. It seemed to be slowly lightening up. "Oh well, what do ya know, the storm's passing." he said to no one in particular, while poking his head outside.

"But what if I say the wrong thing? Some people... are easily offended..." She trailed off and shrugged.

Spade walked in and noticed that the four people had broken off into groups. Sighing she looked over to where the officers head was sticking out the door basically. "Good the rain is easing up. Here I found something you guys can use to try and dry off a bit. It won't help to much, but at least it will help a little." She walked down the stairs and held out the cloth she had found.

He noticed that Spade had come down with what resembled a blanket, it was a nice gesture, he thought. Seeing as not much was going on, he went and sat back down on the stairs. The Cowboy kid had stolen the girl's chalk, Red was shivering cold, and Spade was passing around a cloth. He wasn't sure where the dog had gone though, probably just wandering around, claiming his territory.

Red looked at Spade and flashed her a smile. "Thanks." He popped the buttons on his shirt and pulled it over his head, letting it fall to the floor in a wet splat. Oh well. Taking the cloth from her, he grinned and dried himself off a bit.

She raised an eyebrow in Red's direction and sat down against the wall. Hopefully the rain would let up soon... Cherokee was probably going nuts in the lodging house and that couldn't result in anything good.

She handed a piece of cloth to Zero, Jack, and then Red. She looked up when Red said thanks and smiled, "You're welcome." She turned around and noticed the officer was still a little wet. Walking back up the stairs she held out a piece of cloth to him. "You aren't completely dry," she smiled as she held it out to him.
Sighing she sat down again about half way down the stairs. Closing her eyes she let out a high pitch whistle. Spade smiled as she heard paws scraping against the floor boards somewhere to the left.

"Thanks" he replied, taking the bit of cloth and wiping off his face. He wasn't expecting such a high pitch whistle, so instead of jumping, he sort of cringed. The dog had come out of one of the hallways running at full speed with its tongue hanging out. He noticed that everybody was starting to look relatively dry. He could hear the rain lightening up, it wasn't falling as hard on the old roof.

Jack nodded at Zero. "Then don't talk a lot. But you should still...talk, ya know? Don't just leave us silent." He smiled gently, and looked over to the others. "Well..I think I'm going to head out. Got things to do...being a leadah' is hell." He laughed a bit and started walking to the door.

Devil made a comical sight and she laughed as his tongue attacked her. Pushing his tongue away she grabbed the fur at his neck. "That is enough Devil," she said with authority. Looking over at Jack and then at everyone else, hoping they'd leave so she could find a room to stay in out of the cold and wet air. "Lucky for you all its about cleared up and you can go back to where it is you are needed," she said politely, but not pushing the fact that she wanted them gone, just giving them advice that it was about time for them to leave.

It was apparent that Spade didn't want them here.
"So, this is where you live." He said, yet it still sounded like a question. Even though he already knew the answer was no, he wondered why she would want them gone all of a sudden. He wasn't planning on taking her to a refuge or lodging house, he figured he would have just let her stay if she wanted to.

Obviously she wasn’t as conspicuity as she hoped she was, smiling sweetly she said, “No, I don’t live here. I thought we had already gone over that.” She didn’t like to repeat herself and officers were a master at making people repeat themselves over and over if it suited their purpose. “I just think that it would be best if you were all snug in your beds then wandering around this big ol’ city. Don’t you officer?” She was acting overly innocent, but Spade was irritated and tired, never a good combination with her. She could handle one or the other, but not both.
