Tumbler leaned forward and pulled his feet underneat each other so he could sit cross legged. His head was still hurting.
"I went to the Bronx...." he began, but decided that he wouldn't say why.

Jack nodded. "And...?" He crossed his arms a bit. "Last time I checked, Bronx wasn't no war zone."

"It's not," Tumbler mumbled. He played with his thumb to keep himself from sucking it, a habit which he had never fully broken. Now wasn't the time to be childish.
"I was trying to....run away."

Jack looked down at the young kid, sitting back a bit. "...Run away? To where..." He looked at Tumbler hard. "Why were you runnin, Tumbler..." He needed to know if it was something one of his kids did.

"I don't know where, I was just runnin'," Tumbler told him, a little on edge now. He immediately felt bad and answered the second question without a long wait.
"I didn't want to be alone."

Jack sighed and ruffled the kids hair a bit. "Tumbler...yous got all of us here...now why ya thinkin yous alone?"

"I don't know...." Tumbler lied. He knew why he felt alone, but didn't want to say it.
"I was all alone sellin' today...." Tumbler pursed his lips to keep himself from crying.

Jack pat Tumbler on the shoulder. "Yeah..we all have ta deal with sellin' alone..means ya growin' up tho..ya know ya can always ask me if ya need a sellin' partner.." He smiled down at the kid. He knew the kid was havin' troubles. Sometimes the younger kids did. "...now come on and tell ya leadah why yous been feelin alone."

"Skittery."
It wasn't tattling, it was just a fact. Tumbler looked up to Skittery, and when he was without him he felt somehow empty. Skittery was smart....he knew things, a lot of things, and Tumbler had a lot of respect for that. Tumbler sighed....this was harder to explain than his injuries.
"I don't think he likes me at all."

Jack chuckled. "...SKits is a bit gruff...I'm shoire it aint that he don't like yas...he's just that way." He looked down at Tumbler. "Is it anything in particular? And I know Skits didn't give you does bruises."

"No! Of course not!" Tumbler hung his head. "It's nothing particular....I just don't think he does."
Tumbler looked at his hands. They weren't badly hurt, but they didn't exactly look as good as new. He assumed he had a few more on the more painful parts of his body. He had no idea how he was going to explain them. In reality, they were his fault. He had started it.
"There was a boy in the Bronx...." he began. "He brought me home."

Jack sighed. "Tumbler..I ain't gonna pry..but what happened between ya being in the Bronx and havin' a boy bring ya home....I needs ta know..." He knew the kid was probably embarassed, but he needed to know if there was somone he needed to talk to.

Tumbler suddenly realized that Jack had the wrong idea.
"This didn't happen in the Bronx," he stated, calmly, motioning to his bruises. "This was my fault."
Again, he hung his head.

Jack sighed. "Hows it your fault, Tumbler?" He sat down, crossing his legs. He figured that this might take a while.
