Tumbler looked back up. Jack wouldn't let him off without explaining things. Should he lie, perhaps? No, that wouldn't be right.
"He brought me back. He wasn't really nice, but at least he was helping me," Tumbler began. He took a deep breath and continued. "Then....when we got here....nobody else was. I was upset, I guess. He stayed and talked to me. Then he just left...."

Jack sighed. "Okayokay...but what happened to your hands, Tumbler?" He smiled. "And I'm glad someone helped you."

"I fell on them...." Tumbler realized he sounded crazy. "No....really, I did. But not only because of that....it was when he left."
Tumbler remembered the scene, and his sudden anger.
"I pushed him. Not that hurt....I couldn't. He pushed me back. So....I got back up. He pushed me down again. It hurt....I knew I couldn't win! I gave up. He left, and it still hurt, so I came up here to go to bed. Then....then you were there."

Jack raised an eyebrow. "Who was the kid, and why did you push him, Tumbler?" He rubbed his forehead a bit, looking at the boy sterly.

"He wasn't really a kid...." Tumbler didn't know his exact age. "He was maybe around your age."
He considered why he was mad. Was there a reason, really?
"I don't know. He was just leaving....and he wasn't too nice about everything, you know? I didn't hurt him, though - Jack, I swear!"

Jack sighed, rubbing his forehead. "Name...Tumbler...I'd like the kid's name..."

Tumbler's eyes widened. That was the last thing he could do. Sure, he was mad at the boy, and he had been mean to him, but he still got him home. Tumbler sat up onto his knees, giving himself more height. He stared at Jack. No....he wouldn't get Lukas in trouble.

Jack sighed. '....Tumbler. I'll find out one way or another..I'm your leader. I'm not going to do anything to the kid...I just need to know." He looked at Tumbler, kindness in his eyes.

Tumbler frowned. How could he find out? And would he really not do anything? He must have been angry....but if he said he wouldn't hurt him....
"You promise?"

"Jack...." Tumbler sighed. He was making things particularely difficult for Tumbler. He was his leader....but was it really that big a deal? More importantly, would Jack keep his promise?
He always had before.
"He said his name was Lukas," he whispered guiltily. "But I don't think he's all that bad....I don't get it."

Jack smirked. "Ahh..Lukas." Somehow, that made complete sense. "So..what excatly happened...what you fight over?" He ran a hand through his hair. "I just want the whole story...I'm not gonna get him in trouble."

"Nothing...." again, he knew it sounded bad. "Jack, I promise. Nothing big....he just started to go....said something a little mean....and I got mad."
Tumbler hung his head.
"It was all my fault, not his. I shouldn't have beat up on him."

Jack sighed. "Fine fine..." He would talk to Lukas about it anyways. Just to make sure.
"Go ahead and wash up, Tumbler...you'll feel better afterwards."

Rose walked into the bunks at a very slow pace. The walk back from the bridge wasn't quite the smoothest one.. She gave Jack a small smile, not saying anything as she passed him.
She clenched her stomach as she made her way to her bunk, still in agonizing pain. She took a seat on her bed, letting out a sigh. It was good to be hom-... well safe.
